Children usually have apprehensions as the first day at school approaches. Young children who have never been to school do not know what to expect. Author, Sylvia Rouss began her writing career creating stories for her young students. As an early childhood educator, she saw how nervous these children were at the beginning of the year. In this book, In My Preschool, There is a Time for Everything, she shows children all the different things that happen at preschool. Each page shows opposite activities within the day, such as a time for work, a time for play. Children can understand this idea because the text is perfectly illustrated by several photographs taken during one day at a small preschool classroom. I would recommend this book for any young child about to start preschool or Kindergarten. It is a great introduction to the school day. In My Preschool, There is a Time for Everything by Sylvia A.
